Play time on a Tuesday!
This morning, Mom and I went for our walk a little early. We didn't walk our usual route, either. It's all good with me, though. Especially when I realized where we were walking to! Doggy Day Care! Mom had some plans to go hiking with some friends, and our Thursday will be a little different this week, so Mom made arrangements for me to trade days this week. It was a great day to be playing outside! Mom and Dad picked me up in the car. I'm always glad to see them when they come get me.

Training Time
Today is back to class! I had a hard time concentrating in class today. Mom and Dad said I knew the tricks, but I was more interested in Buddy, Willy and Bella in my class. That, and the treats I knew Mike the trainer had in his pocket. He was using Buddy to show new things today, and I like to be the one he uses because I know that means extra treats!
Mom and Dad got a chance to show how Mom can walk around me with a treat, then Mom was able to step over me as Dad gave me a treat! That was HUGE for us! I amazed everyone with that one!
However, I jumped on everyone that tried to greet me today. I didn't get one 'proper greet'. Sometimes I just can't contain my excitement!
After class today, we came to Dad's office. We'll be here a couple hours, I think. It's nice because Mom brought my bed so I can chill. Training class wears me out!

Couch potato day
Mom took me for a walk this morning. It was our 'regular' walk since it's kinda cool and rainy out. We didn't get rained on, thank goodness.
Mom left me by myself for a little while, then Dad came home. When Mom got back home, we all took a nap. Mom read and Dad watched TV after that. It was a quiet day, for a change. I liked that!

Beautiful day = Long walk!
Today was a gorgeous day, so Mom & I stayed home all day. We went on a long walk and I loved it! I'm doing so much better at my 'loose leash walking'. I still get excited when we're walking down our street, but once we get to the park, I'm a little lady! Well, until I see a squirrel or a bird!
When we got back from our walk, Mom put the long leash on me and we got some yard work done. Mom wasn't too amused when I tried to eat the roots of the plants she pulled up. I was just trying to have some fun! And besides, I knew if I 'dropped it' when she told me to I'd get a treat! It worked! I'm training her pretty good, don't you think?
Oh yeah, and I let Mom walk around me today with a treat in her hand. If only you could've seen her showing that one to Dad when he got home! They were both pretty excited!
That reminds me. Mom had something called a 'travel crate' set up when I got home from doggy daycare yesterday. I heard something about letting me get used to it. Dad threw a couple treats in it, so of course I crept in to get them. I'm not sure what to think of it. I heard them say it will be better when we rent a car to go on a road trip. They say it is something to help me feel more secure and less afraid. I love having my own space in my crate that is at home or in the suburban, so maybe this will be a good thing!

Play time!
woohoo! Mom took me to Doggy Daycare today! And it was a gorgeous day after all! I got lots of playtime with my friends! This time, Mom took my collar and leash with her so I won't be chewing a collar today. I know it's a bad habit, but I just can't seem to get used to wearing a collar. Mom wasn't sure I was glad to see her this afternoon since they had to carry me to the office (just so I didn't dart out the door). Mom says she likes to see me jump at the door when she comes to pick me up.

Make-up Class
Today is my make-up class since we were out of town on Sunday. I'm glad I get to make the class up, but I have to really be on my toes when the trainer is telling us how to do something that is new to me.
I was really nervous when he was showing Mom & Dad how to give me a treat while walking around me. This is teaching trust and eventually, the circle will be 6 ft, so I will know 'stay' better. I couldn't sit still for anyone to walk around me today. Then, the next step was really more than I could stand. You want people to step over me while I'm in the 'down' position? No, no, no!!! Although those 2 things frightened me, I did very well on the 'puppy sit-ups'. They were fun!
We will be practicing the other things and I will try to be able to tolerate them. I know Mom & Dad love me, and aren't going to harm me in any way.

Heading Home
Today I got to meet my sister and brother-in-law, Cindi & Al! They thought I was pretty cute, of course. I was really hoping to get to play with their pups, Toby & Haley, but our trip was too short! Next time!
Here we go, back to the car. This time Lyra is riding with us. I wait patiently in the car while all the people go inside. (Frequent eaters, they are!)
When they come outside, Jason gets Lyra's car seat out of the car. Lyra starts to cry. Oh, I don't like where this is going! Everybody's hugging and leaving! What's going on?
Pretty soon, Dad, Mom and me are on the road by ourselves. Well, there's plenty of traffic out here with us! A couple of times, we got on a different road because traffic was stopped on our big road. Then we got to stop and stretch my legs a little. I like that part a lot! Then we were back on the road. Mom sees traffic stopped ahead again, so Dad tells her to get on a different road. I was ok with it the first couple of times, but this time, the road is a dirt road! I'm getting really nervous....oops....sick in the car. Sorry, folks, can't help it. We had to back track on the dirt road and that didn't help matters! Finally, we found another paved road and we were on our way again.
When we got back on the big road, it was getting colder and colder. Then there was snow on the ground. Dad's driving now. One more stop for the people to eat and we're back on the road. This time we made it all the way back to my familiar home!
Oh, it's good to be back here. I am feeling much better now.
