Play time on a Tuesday!
This morning, Mom and I went for our walk a little early. We didn't walk our usual route, either. It's all good with me, though. Especially when I realized where we were walking to! Doggy Day Care! Mom had some plans to go hiking with some friends, and our Thursday will be a little different this week, so Mom made arrangements for me to trade days this week. It was a great day to be playing outside! Mom and Dad picked me up in the car. I'm always glad to see them when they come get me.

Training Time
Today is back to class! I had a hard time concentrating in class today. Mom and Dad said I knew the tricks, but I was more interested in Buddy, Willy and Bella in my class. That, and the treats I knew Mike the trainer had in his pocket. He was using Buddy to show new things today, and I like to be the one he uses because I know that means extra treats!
Mom and Dad got a chance to show how Mom can walk around me with a treat, then Mom was able to step over me as Dad gave me a treat! That was HUGE for us! I amazed everyone with that one!
However, I jumped on everyone that tried to greet me today. I didn't get one 'proper greet'. Sometimes I just can't contain my excitement!
After class today, we came to Dad's office. We'll be here a couple hours, I think. It's nice because Mom brought my bed so I can chill. Training class wears me out!

Couch potato day
Mom took me for a walk this morning. It was our 'regular' walk since it's kinda cool and rainy out. We didn't get rained on, thank goodness.
Mom left me by myself for a little while, then Dad came home. When Mom got back home, we all took a nap. Mom read and Dad watched TV after that. It was a quiet day, for a change. I liked that!

Beautiful day = Long walk!
Today was a gorgeous day, so Mom & I stayed home all day. We went on a long walk and I loved it! I'm doing so much better at my 'loose leash walking'. I still get excited when we're walking down our street, but once we get to the park, I'm a little lady! Well, until I see a squirrel or a bird!
When we got back from our walk, Mom put the long leash on me and we got some yard work done. Mom wasn't too amused when I tried to eat the roots of the plants she pulled up. I was just trying to have some fun! And besides, I knew if I 'dropped it' when she told me to I'd get a treat! It worked! I'm training her pretty good, don't you think?
Oh yeah, and I let Mom walk around me today with a treat in her hand. If only you could've seen her showing that one to Dad when he got home! They were both pretty excited!
That reminds me. Mom had something called a 'travel crate' set up when I got home from doggy daycare yesterday. I heard something about letting me get used to it. Dad threw a couple treats in it, so of course I crept in to get them. I'm not sure what to think of it. I heard them say it will be better when we rent a car to go on a road trip. They say it is something to help me feel more secure and less afraid. I love having my own space in my crate that is at home or in the suburban, so maybe this will be a good thing!

Play time!
woohoo! Mom took me to Doggy Daycare today! And it was a gorgeous day after all! I got lots of playtime with my friends! This time, Mom took my collar and leash with her so I won't be chewing a collar today. I know it's a bad habit, but I just can't seem to get used to wearing a collar. Mom wasn't sure I was glad to see her this afternoon since they had to carry me to the office (just so I didn't dart out the door). Mom says she likes to see me jump at the door when she comes to pick me up.

Make-up Class
Today is my make-up class since we were out of town on Sunday. I'm glad I get to make the class up, but I have to really be on my toes when the trainer is telling us how to do something that is new to me.
I was really nervous when he was showing Mom & Dad how to give me a treat while walking around me. This is teaching trust and eventually, the circle will be 6 ft, so I will know 'stay' better. I couldn't sit still for anyone to walk around me today. Then, the next step was really more than I could stand. You want people to step over me while I'm in the 'down' position? No, no, no!!! Although those 2 things frightened me, I did very well on the 'puppy sit-ups'. They were fun!
We will be practicing the other things and I will try to be able to tolerate them. I know Mom & Dad love me, and aren't going to harm me in any way.

Heading Home
Today I got to meet my sister and brother-in-law, Cindi & Al! They thought I was pretty cute, of course. I was really hoping to get to play with their pups, Toby & Haley, but our trip was too short! Next time!
Here we go, back to the car. This time Lyra is riding with us. I wait patiently in the car while all the people go inside. (Frequent eaters, they are!)
When they come outside, Jason gets Lyra's car seat out of the car. Lyra starts to cry. Oh, I don't like where this is going! Everybody's hugging and leaving! What's going on?
Pretty soon, Dad, Mom and me are on the road by ourselves. Well, there's plenty of traffic out here with us! A couple of times, we got on a different road because traffic was stopped on our big road. Then we got to stop and stretch my legs a little. I like that part a lot! Then we were back on the road. Mom sees traffic stopped ahead again, so Dad tells her to get on a different road. I was ok with it the first couple of times, but this time, the road is a dirt road! I'm getting really nervous....oops....sick in the car. Sorry, folks, can't help it. We had to back track on the dirt road and that didn't help matters! Finally, we found another paved road and we were on our way again.
When we got back on the big road, it was getting colder and colder. Then there was snow on the ground. Dad's driving now. One more stop for the people to eat and we're back on the road. This time we made it all the way back to my familiar home!
Oh, it's good to be back here. I am feeling much better now.

Long Day
Mom & Dad didn't come feed me this morning, but fortunately I was taken care of! I'm missing out on the baby shower today. I heard it was going to be at a park and I was all excited, but it's freezing cold, windy and rainy out. Good day for sleeping if you ask me! Jason put my crate in the living room so I wouldn't be so lonely, and off they went.
After awhile, Mom & Dad came! They took me for another car ride and I got to go meet Granny & Paw-Paw! I heard they wanted to meet me. Lyra helped me show them my tricks. They thought I was a pretty cute pup!
Now it's back over to Lyra's house and in the crate again for a little while. Back to the crate, but it's ok. Tonight, it's just Jason, Shannon, Sandy & me. I didn't have to sleep in my crate, but I'm comfortable there. I'm not saying for sure, but I have them thinking I slept on Lyra's bed for awhile and in my crate for awhile. Sandy was keeping a pretty close eye on me;)

Meeting Family
Whoa! That was a short night! What is going on? We're in the car again at 4:45am! I'm kinda concerned because I didn't get to eat breakfast before we hit the road. Fortunately, we stopped after an hour or so and Mom fed me. Whew! I was getting worried!
Last night we were in Oklahoma! A new state for me! Now we're in Texas, another new state!
We get to Fort Worth, Mom & Dad get out and go in a house. Hey! What about me? It was only a few minutes, then they came outside with my favorite little girl, Lyra. I tried to be really good with my 'proper greet' so she would like me. Well, in no time, she had me sitting and was giving me treats! She's amazing! She had Sandy (her pup) and me both under her control! I got to meet my brother and sister-in-law, Jason & Shannon. This has turned out all right!
Sandy kept going out this 'flap' they called a doggy door. Since I've never seen one before, and I don't like pushing on things with my nose, Mom or Lyra had to hold the flap up for me. I liked being outside. Sandy has a nice, fenced yard.
The girls left and when they got back, Mom was so excited she said she got to hear the baby's heartbeat! That's why we got up so early! Shortly after they got home, I find myself in my crate and the house is quiet...
When everyone got back home, I got to meet Dad's sister, Debbie and her grandson, Jack. Jack liked me fine across the room, but he didn't want to get close to me.
Mom & Dad left again for awhile. This time, when they came back it was getting late and they said I couldn't stay with them tonight, so here I am spending the night with family I just met. Lucky for me, Jason and I got to sleep on the couch together. Not that we were in the 'dog house', that was just the sleeping arrangement for tonight. Suits me!

Road Trip
I was wondering why I didn't get to go play with my friends at Doggy Daycare today. Mom left me at home while she ran her errands. Hmmm. What's up?
Well, finally, Mom and I went to pick Dad up. From there we took him somewhere besides home. A little while after Mom & I got home, here comes Dad, driving a car. Then Dad & Mom start putting things in the car. I'm not sure what's going on.
They say they're ready to go, and they put me in the car. I'm not sure I like this! I have to look out the window so maybe I can figure out where we're going. We don't take all this 'stuff' when we go to the park. We drive for a few hours, then get out and spend the night in this building with lots of doors. And I smell other pups. Oh, we're going to sleep here! No problem! I didn't even feel the need to bark!
I'm still with Mom & Dad, so it's all good:)

Acing Training
Well, I've got this training thing down! I had a make-up session on Wednesday, since Mom & Dad were out of town last weekend. They were worried about me having time to learn my new commands, but they didn't need to be! Today in class, we worked on 'recall'. We were on the long leash, with Dad and Mom calling me back and forth. Everybody knows how I LOVE little kids, and I also know Mike the trainer has a plethora of treats on his person at all times. Well, Dad was calling me from Mom, and as I'm trotting to him, I look to my left and see Mike. Knowing what I had to do, I kept going towards Dad. Then, just to Dad's right are 3, count them 3 kids. What to do? I managed to stay focused and you should have heard how happy I made everybody! Did they really think I couldn't do it? Wow! I got extra treats for completing that task! Yum! Yum! I am loving this training stuff! Spending an hour or so at PetSmart and getting to meet all kinds of new friends, and if I'm really good, little kids get to pet me while I'm in my 'proper greeting' position. That one is really hard for me because I have to 'sit' while they pet me. Works out good, though, because I also get to eat a treat while they pet. Yep, I'm doing great!

Another Cool Walk
It seemed warmer outside today, so Mom & I headed out for a walk this afternoon. Brrrr! That wind was chilly! We walked around the block and over to the park. I did pretty good until I saw some kids playing at the park. I just had to meet them! And they wanted to meet me, as well! Their mom told us they have a Jack Russell at home. So they know all about my excitement! Mom led me over to the grassy are (soccer field) and I started running around like crazy - well, as long as my leash would let me go. I can't wait until Mom & Dad can take me to the dog park. They say I've got some more training to do before they will feel safe doing that. I can run like the wind, and they're afraid I would forget to come back;) I'm ready to call it a day. I didn't sleep much last night, had to be 'on guard' since Dad wasn't home.
